All three campaigns assume that the Allied faction was victorious at the end of Red Alert 3: Soviet Russia is undergoing de-militarization, and, following Emperor Yoshiro's death, Crown Prince Tatsu has surrendered to the Allies, while secretly plotting to return his Empire to its full power. The Soviet campaign focuses on the remaining Soviet resistance trying to stop FutureTech, an Allied defense contractor, which plans to create a super weapon called the "Sigma Harmonizer", a device to selectively stop time. FutureTech is revealed to have been helped by European Union President Rupert Thornley, who planned to "create Heaven on Earth" using the device. The Allied campaign concentrates on defeating several renegade Imperial warlords who still resist Allied occupational forces. Emperor Tatsu has seemingly begun to cooperate with the Allies, but reveals his true intentions after his military authority is restored by the fall of Takara, the last enemy commander in the Allied campaign. The Empire's campaign covers the fight against two Soviet generals who attempt to conquer parts of Japan. The Allies are also partially involved, attempting (rather ineffectively) to stop the fighting and restore peace. Crown Prince Tatsu greets the commander at first mission. On the second he orders the commander to protect the tomb of his father, Yoshiro, the Emperor of the Rising Sun in Red Alert 3. In the final mission, he orders a counter-attack against the Soviet generals. The Yuriko campaign recounts the story of Yuriko Omega, her origins and discovery by the Imperial military, her captivity by the Allies and her fight to rescue her sister. The Yuriko campaign uses different controls and camera than the rest of the game, allowing only to see the screen in which Yuriko is located and replacing the sidebar, minimap and threat meter with a compact command bar dedicated to Yuriko and her psychic abilities.
